Arm Lift

Arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, is a procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the upper arms, making muscle tone more visible. After the procedure, patients will enjoy sleeker, slimmer, and more aesthetically pleasing upper arms. Arm lift surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis, allowing patients to go home shortly after completing the procedure.

An incision will be made in the lower arm, where the surgeon will remove excess skin and fat tissue to sculpt the arm into an aesthetically pleasing shape. The length of the incision will depend on the amount of tissue that needs to be removed. When that is done, the skin will tighten and the incision will be closed with stitches. Sometimes patients will need liposuction in combination with arm lift surgery. If this is the case, the liposuction will be done at the same time as the brachioplasty. Arm lift surgery takes between one and two hours. Immediately after an arm lift, your surgeon will bandage the incisions and recommend that you wear a compression garment to reduce swelling.

Patients can manage any pain and discomfort with prescription medications, and most feel well enough to return to work within a week. Patients should expect some activity restrictions for several weeks after surgery, and should follow any special instructions the surgeon provides to allow for proper healing.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR THE ARM LIFT?

Although brachioplasty is an effective and safe procedure, not everyone is eligable for the procedure. Ideal candidates for arm lift surgery are healthy women and men who are stable weights. Candidates must have sagging, loose, and oily skin on the upper arm. Due to safety concerns, patients should not be smokers (or be willing to quit smoking) and should not have any medical conditions or essential medications that could cause problems during surgery. Prospective patients should also have realistic expectations about the results of the procedure.

WHY DO ARMS SAG?

In addition to genetic features, weight gain and loss frequently , not doing sports and age are the main reasons.

DOES ARM LIFT SURGERY LEAVE SCARS?

The incisions opened during the surgery are closed with hidden sutures. The scars will disappear as time passes, depending on your skin type, age and lifestyle.

WHEN CAN I RETURN TO WORK AFTER ARM LIFT SURGERY?

You can return to work after 6-7 days. You should pay attention to movements that force your arms.
