Lasik Method

The IntraLase method eliminates the use of a handheld steel blade to cut a corneal flap for the LASIK procedure. Instead, the IntraLase method uses small, fast pulsed laser light to accurately, evenly, and safely create the corneal flap.

We are able to configure the laser to contact the cornea at an exact depth and shape, placing tiny bubbles within the cornea to prepare it for reshaping. Once the flap has been created, it can be easily bent back to allow the surgeon to perform the remainder of the LASIK procedure by reshaping the inner layer of the cornea with a second laser to correct:

Myopia
Farsightedness
Astigmatism
Patients may be surprised to learn that it takes less than 20 seconds to create a corneal flap using the IntraLase method. In fact, the entire LASIK process generally takes less than 10 minutes. Patients generally enjoy excellent vision in the first 24 hours, and improve for weeks afterward.

Benefits of IntraLase

Fin more precise than with a metal blade.
Softer flap
Better visual acuity after surgery.
Improved and safer corneal flap positioning after surgery
Allows many patients with thin corneas to benefit from LASIK surgery that might not otherwise be candidates
Duration of Treatment
30 Minutes

Hospitalization
Outpatient

Regeneration
Immediately

How Is Vision After Lasik?

On the day of LASIK, there may be complaints such as mild stinging and burning for a few hours after the laser. It is normal to have some blurring of vision due to the effect of the operation on the first day. The recovery of vision after LASIK is much faster than the PRK method. On the 1st day after the laser, patients are usually 100 percent visible.
